Bwindi can be visited year-round. The dry seasons (June-August and December-February) offer easier trekking conditions with less rain. The wet seasons (March-May and September-November) are cooler, with lush, photogenic vegetation.
By Road: Buhoma is approximately 460km (a 9-10 hour drive) from Kampala. A 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended for the rugged, mountainous roads. By Air: Chartered flights are available from Entebbe or Kajjansi to airstrips near Kisoro (for southern sectors) or Kihihi (for Buhoma). Pre-booked transfers to the park are required.
